If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Pocket PCs post it here.

Hi guys, what do you think is the best phone app suite for WM5 Phone Edition? I mean not only the one with most features (that's important of course) but also the most stable and useful overall.

I'm leaning towards Spb Phone Suite myself but I see many others I haven't tested yet: inesoft, photo contacts pro, zen phone, phoneweaver, phonealarms, pocket phonetools etc... I suppose I could test drive them all, I may still do that (groan), but I'd like to know your feedback.

So: what do you use and why? and what have you tried before?

Thanks!

I use Photo Contacts only, because it's thje best. Both sms-tones and ringtones/caller i.d./call filter.
Phonealarm is a nice software as well, because it's skinnable, but it's too buggy on my E-ten.
Spb Phone Suite takes up too much memory usage.
I'd go for just one of those you've mentioned. And in my case, it's photo contacts (the 5.02 version)

Thanks! After trying several, I have to agree that Photo Contacts Pro is the best, if not the prettiest. I am using it now and beginning to like its power :)

Spb Phone Suite is not bad for a 1.0 version, but it has some serious limitations:
- call filtering is based on global lists, you can't have per profile lists. Besides, when you add a contact to your white or black list, you must add all his telephone numbers one by one.
- only one custom profile - I need many more!
- no caller groups

Phone Weaver is a small app with VERY flexible profiles but still no caller groups, and Photo Contacts Pro has the same options and many more.

The only think I don't like about PCP is that it doesn't work very well with Spb Mobile Shell inside a tab. I want to put it in a tab because its today plugin takes too much space. Obvious solution: replace Mobile Shell with another today screen manager, but I like its "Now" screen.

i always trust to spb tools such as phone suite, mobile shell, diary and pocket plus but most of them take too much space of the today screen.

i've not tested Photo Contacts Pro yet but if it's not compatible with Mobile Shell, i prefer to use Mobile Shell instead.

Just to make myself clear: It does work with Mobile Shell. It simply disables tab autohide, if you put it inside a tab (all tabs become toggles). Not a big deal, at first I thought incompatibility would be worse.

I like spb user interfaces better than photo contacts pro's, but feature-wise spb is still ages behind PCP. Perhaps next version :)

One thing I don't like about PCP: it has its own photo database, instead of using Pocket Outlook's. You can import your Outlook photos, but you end up having them in both places. In this Spb is better, it simply uses your Outlook photos.
