Everyone using PPCs should have seen that the available program memory gets reduced with every installation of softwares. We can save our memory by installing the softwares into the stoage card or the storage memory. But still the amount of available program may get redueced due to different files installed in the Windows folder.

Memmaid and some other softwares can be used to cleanup unnecessary files and junks to recover memory. UPX4PPC can be used (with some troubles) to compact dlls and exes. Oxios is also a nice tool to close or hibernate apps to recover existing memory.

Is there any idea, information, trick or software known to you which can help us to recover more memory for smooth running of our PPCs?

you can use Pocket Mechanic(free ram , etc) and SK Tools ( to remove Windows startup files, kill processes, etc)

installing in storage card is much better...the ppc feels much smoother for me for some reason wen i have more main memory

yes. when you install in the storage card, some files are still installed in the main mem.

some files such as run-at-startup files, help files, fonts and install logs are always copied to the main memory even if you choose the storage card as the destination path.
