If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Pocket PCs post it here.

EXTRACTING A .CAB FILE FROM AN .EXE ON YOUR DESKTOP

First possibility:

some of the developers of the game or program make the .CAB downloadable from their Website.

Second possibility:

On your desktop PC, rename the installer .EXE file to .ZIP, and unzip it. With some luck you get one or more files with the extension .CAB and eventually the substring "ARM" or "XSCALE" in it. This is/are your file(s).

Third possibility:

If you can't unzip the .EXE file in above-mentioned way, just start the installer .EXE file on your desktop. If your ActiveSync is installed, the program will put the CAB files into a specific directory on your desktop, most probably in C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\, in a subdirectory usually named like the program you want to install.

There may be cases that the CAB files are put somewhere else inside C:\Program Files\... or in :\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp. Then, you may want to look for new directories there and/or do a generic *.cab file search.

Fourth possibility:

Use CabBackup, a program that makes a .CAB file from a program that has already been installed on your PPC. This doesn't work for all programs and sometimes it doesn't backup all the settings of a program so use it with caution.

Fifth possibility:

Use CabGrabber, an utility that searches for .CAB files on your desktop for programs from which you launched the onstallation process, even when your device wasn't connected. (Thank you BeerBear!)

Last but not least:

If all of this failed, you can always check the opening release posts if you don't find the .CAB file link in the format
< And HERE is the .CAB file. >, and tap the "HERE" word for immediate download.

And finally: the smartest way:

You can always request a .CAB file link in the PPC warez service topic: .CAB file link request. The .CAB file link wil then be added to the opening release post. Don't be afraid to ask for it, we have a Service team to help you.

Use
Universal Extractor (http://www.legroom.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Open_Source&file=index&pag)

It can unpack almost any kind of exe which are not encrypted with packers.

English version of CabGrabber. Special for ppcwarez.org:

[Old post]
I can offer free program CabGrabber. It, the truth, not in English, but simple enough in development.
Instructions on extraction .cab file:
- Install ActiveSync (if it is not installed).
- Instal on the big computer all necessary PPC programs. Each time ActiveSync should write, that installation will be after the following synchronisation with PDA.
- Synchronisation to do it is not necessary.
- Start CabGrabber, put ticks near to the necessary names and press 'Save' (in a picture I has noted this button a red circle  ).
- Specify a folder where to keep .cab files. The folder should be already.
- Wait a few moments.
- Transfer .cab files on a handheld computer, install.
- That's all.
Download (~300 Kb):

Execuse me. The program is focused on a Russian-speaking audience. That instead of ???? there was a text, it is necessary to change regional parametres, but it can not help. I can paint all points of the menu in English. Whether only here it is necessary, if and so there are many other ways to take .cab file?
P.S: Perhaps, in vain I have written about this program here...

Lifehacker, I don't see any buttons on the bottom of your screen shot. I haven't either.

BeerBear, could you check that? Has this something to do with landscape/portrait use?
