If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Pocket PCs post it here.

Hi,

It's been a while since my last topic here and i'm glad to see this amazing site
standing still and good looking.

The reason i havn't been active for a while is because my device had problems
and i didn't have the time to send it to the lab...but i was amazed when i've found out
that those problems were because a crappy little thing that called 'ActiveSync' !
I couldn't turn on my device just because this shit, can't believe it.

The problem was that in WM5 ActiveSync is set by default to automatically look for
a sync even when the device is not connected to the cradle, Which caused the device
to stop working.

Does anyone know a similar software to work with?

Thanks.

I highly doubt that is the problem, but there are several alternatives...not that I've ever really looked

This is the problem for sure. I read some articles about it and after i decativate activesync
my ppc is working fine now. but i can't sync anything without it and i'm looking for something
else.

I also highly doubt this is caused by ActiveSync, did Microsoft identify this as an error? Have you hard-reset your device since you bought it? Did it work when you bought it until you loaded some software on it? How did you disable it if you couldn't load up your device?

Most likely if the problem is caused by a conflict with ActiveSync, since it's extremely likely any sync software will use ActiveSync APIs this problem won't go away with third party software.
