If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Pocket PCs post it here.

Hi.
I bought a new computer running Windows Vista and installed Office XP. It runs very well but I couldn't find the option to save as PWD document in "Save As" dialog in Word. I know that when you install ActiveSync prior to 4.0, you install a pocket word converter in Office XP. But Windows vista doesn't allow insttalation of ActiveSync even if I only want pockted word converter contained in it. How can I install pocket word converter in office XP running under Vista? Can you help me?

vista uses Windows Mobile Device Center instead of ActiveSync and unfortunately it's not fully compatible with older PPC operating systems (PPC2000, 2003 and 2003SE). it's not the fault of Office XP vs Vista, WMDC imports Word and Excel files in raw ppc format. nonetheless, it imports RTF files, so it seems that you need to translate them into RTF format; however there's no similar workaround for the spreedsheet files.

I was thinking about identify files installed by ActiveSync 3.8 that are part of built in Pocket Word Converter. I Know that ActiveSync 3.8 is the last ActiveSync that installs Pocket Word Converter. All recent releases lack this application.
