So, I plug my phone in and on my phone it says I am connected. But activesync does not pop up on my laptop, so I have no way of doing anything. Anyone know what I can do?

Have you tried reinstalling Activesync? Also try plugging into different USB port

You might also want to try having activesync run (up on a window, not the taskbar). For some reasons, activesync will only work for me when i double click it on the taskbar.

Well, I don't know if this could help.
Usually if it happened to me, I just run memmaid in my pda and soft-reset it.
After that I plug the usb cable to sync it.
If it still doesn't work, I unplugged and plugged it again.
If it's still doesn't work, I restart my laptop, and try to sync it again and usually it works, :D

cheers,

So i will explain what to do if this happens to anyone else.
1. connect your ppc via usb to pc
2. open device manger on PC
3. Expand Network Adapters
you will see Windows Mobile Device # 1 or 2 or whatever it say
4. Right click Windows Mobile Device
5. Click uninstall
NOW the important part as soon as it uninstalls disconnect your device. or the adapter will automatically re install .
6. Plug it into another usb slot
7. Do the same all over again for all the usb slots.

Note: if you have not plug ppc into a usb port before it will load the adapter, so you will have to do the steps for that to

Now all your USB ports should be cleaned up. With no Window Mobile device adapters installed.
Now plug connect the ppc via usb to the PORT you are going to use, AND only use that port everytime

lol, you should have said that in the beginning. It's simple, here's how to fix your problem (i told you saying your device would help ;) ) Go to start>settings>connections>usb to pc> uncheck it and active sync should work :D.

I checked that because I tought it would fix it. Unchecking it didnt work, It did something, but the Activesync wont open on my computer and wont show up with the other tray icons.

Ah! Thought that would work (it does for almost everybody). If it were me and i couldn't get it resolved, i'd just do a hard reset. Especially that backing and restoring my ppc is really easy with Sprite.

try to connect noutebook to ac power supply.
if you have a mini-usb connection in your device (e.g. as it in htc artemis) buy a short usb cable that has two original size usb from one side, and one mini usb for device at the other side, connect both original size usb in your houtebook.
