Is it possible to connect a PDA (without phone) to internet via another PDA (with phone) using "Internet Sharing" via Bluetooth?

I got 2 PDAs:
1. MDA Vario II - which has intenet access
2. Yakumo - with GPS

I use the Yakumo only in car for navigation, and the Vario II for everything else (phoning, internet...)
A week ago, I installed Google Maps for PPC and found it exquisite! I think that satellite images would make a great substitute for areas not covered with maps, but...

The facts are:
a) Vario II has internet access, which is necessary for viewing Google maps,
but doesn't have GPS for information of exact position
b) Yakumo has GPS, but doesn't have internet access, so I can't load maps from Google

And my problem is:
I tried to connect to internet with Yakumo by using Internet Sharing on Vario (via Bluetooth PAN), but without results.
I tried to create "New connection" on Yakumo, I chose bluetooth to connect, then "New Partnership", it found Vario, but it didn't offer me any "servises" and when the setup finished, it took me back on step "Select the Bluetooth device".

Am I making a mistake in the settings?
Is it even possible to make such connection?

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any kind of advice..

Hi Damir3,
Welcome to PPCWarez, hope you enjoy this site!
Please update your profile by adding your device info in user control panel. This will help you to get quicker replies if you have more queries concerning your device.

As for the internet sharing, AFAIK, the choices of USB cable and Bluetooth PAN were only for PC connection. Unless somebody else could show you how to use internet sharing to connect to internet (PDA to PDA), best that you can do with internet sharing is to use your MDA Vario II via USB/BT PAN connected to your PC. Then you can transfer the maps downloaded from your PC to your Yakumo. Or better yet, you could always buy a BT gps then pairing it with your MDA Vario for another GPS usage solution.

Sorry, can't help much, as I also use internet sharing via usb cable to my pc only, :D

cheers,
andree

Forgive me, as I'm not too knowledgeable about either device, but is WMWifiRouter an option here? The connected device would serve as the router, and the other would connect to the network normally..

Telling us what flavor of Windows each device runs would help us to help you!

Here's what I do. My T-Mo Wing (WM2006) has an always available, unlimited, Internet access through GPRS/EDGE. My iPAQs 2750 or 2210 (WM2003SE) will not connect to it using BT PAN or WifiRouter. The only thing that worked is software that allows BT DUN on the Wing. The other devices just "dial" it up!

It worked on the first try. The connection is good --but does terminate unexpectedly sometimes.

Uhm.. does it terminate unexpectedly sometimes due to perhaps the internet connection access problem ?
Interesting! I might try this one,

Ahhh...i'm not sure what that is that you are referring to.

Whatever it is happens on the Wing (the "modem" device). The receiving PPC will pop up a window that tells me something like "the conected device has terminated the connection for unknown reasons". When I check the Wing, the BT radio is off. IDN....
