I am looking for a program that will give me some details in the general location I am located? I don’t need to know the exact address, but I need it to work without a data connection and around the world. If can give speed altitude and coordinates would be great too. thanks

i use a nuvi 270-cost $131 with a world routeable basemap 100mb, which has all the major cities and highways in the world.
under where to-coordinates it tells me my present coordinates--and under map my present location in the world and speed --it fits in a pocket but needs to see the sky to receive satellite signals.
on my nuvi270 i have 7gb of maps installed,and i could give the exact address in half of the world.
the other half of the world could fit on 2 more sdhc cards.
i think almost any hand held gps would supply your requirments
true, but i dont want to have to walk around with a handled GPS it more convient to have it on my phone i feel
