If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Pocket PCs post it here.

Hi,

Can anyone help to decrypt the attached jpg files from Samsung Omnia II?

The file header indicates AES 128 encryption when view with WinHex.

Have already try with GImp, photoshop, windows paint, fax and picture viewer, office picture manager, still unable to open. It prompts invalid jpeg header.

Your chance to decrypt an AES128 CBC encrypted data without having the key is nil. Since it looks like some kind of DRM-ed image file, some kind of program on the device this file is originally intended for probably knows the key and is able to open it. Your best bet for "one time" bypass if this DRM is probably just opening it with that program, on the original device, and dumping the program RAM, in an attempt to find either the decrypted JPG data or a decompressed raw image data. A better way would be reverse engineering the program and finding out how it generates the decryption key and make your own unpacker/decryptor that runs on the device. But let me ask you something... Why is it worth the effort ?

pardon my ignorance...

was just trying to see if there's anyway to decrypt it other than using a passkey file.

Thanks.. :D
