If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Pocket PCs post it here.

I am looking for an AOL Instant Messenger prog that has a better interface than IM+ (by Shapeservices). I used to run AgileMessenger but we have to pay for the service now. The interface with AgileMessenger was great.

Are there any better looking interfaces that run AIM?

Thanks

I've used Aim 2.0, slick, palringo and beejive

Aim 2.0 is ok, it looks like the classic aim before we had buddy icons. You need to relogin if you get a phone call or go idle kinda annoying.

Slick is cool great. You can change the color interface just like aim 6.0 and better. houses other services. Best things about it is that you can send files and pics. The downside is that it's notifaction is very low and the vibrate alert as well as custom msg never worked for me but is pretty good application

Palringo looks clean however you must sign into their account to use the popular services it's free. Its a bit confussing at first but passes you can also send pics with this application which I find important when you're using the Sprint Mogul which doesn't have a picture mail application thur sprint for the phone.

Beejive however is the best application so far I love it 100%. It's interface looks just like aim 6.0 and better. Great things about this application is it has a home screen application which shows your status or custom message and the number of open conversations. You can add more than one screen name to the same service for example 2 names for aim. You can adjust all three status messages for available, busy and away. The downside it's a beta version and currently doesn't offer the option to send pics or files ...

Good luck hope this helps all

AOL's client is written in JAVA I believe, and it runs VERY VERY slow, even on the HTC Touch Pro.
I have tried Agile, IM+, Beejive, Parlingo, and Slick, and I also believe Beejive is the best client.

Reasons being the interface supports touch navigation, its VERY fast, the interface is intuitive, modern, it looks alot like iChat does on mac os X -- with the buddy icons to the right, and the list layout looking very similar.

Only downside is that the features like direct connect with picture send and file send are not yet supported.
If you absolutely need those features, then go with slick, but the program and interface itself has not been updated in a long time -- looks like a windows CE 2003 application basically.

Agile is horrible, not only do they charge for it (even if you get a cracked version), but it also has not been updated in AGES.

IM+ is alright, but I do not like the interface. It also has been known to crash every now and then for no apparent reason.
Even though they seem to have updated it to look "modern" and be compatible with 6.1, it still looks nothing like the iPhone versions iface -- of course.
